LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — A man was convicted on child exploitation charges after a three-day trial.
Edgar Josue Castro-Juarez, 29, of Guatemala, was found guilty of electronic solicitation of a child, traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act and first-degree attempted human trafficking this week by a Limestone County Jury. The guilty verdict was unanimous.
Castro-Juarez was arrested as part of Sheriff Joshua McLaughlin’s Millstone Project, an initiative launched in February 2024 in partnership with the Athens Police Department and Covenant Rescue Group to combat child exploitation in the Limestone County community…
