KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Knoxville officers arrested a previously convicted felon after he ran from officers during a traffic stop Thursday, the Knoxville Police Department said.
Officers pulled over a truck on Western Avenue just after midnight for driving without headlights, according to KPD. Michael Cook, 32, a passenger in the truck, immediately got out and ran.
Cook threw a small handbag while running. Officers caught up with him and found suspected meth, fentanyl and over $1,000 in cash on him. The discarded bag contained a semi-automatic pistol, according to KPD…
