MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — After years of planning, the city of Myrtle Beach said Wednesday it will break ground on another new fire station sometime in 2026.
Station No.1, currently located on Mr. Joe White Avenue, has served the city since 1999, and in recent years, has played an important role in emergency responses.
“The station alone runs a third of the calls for the city of Myrtle Beach,” Fire Capt. Jonathan Evans said. “So we’ve added extra firefighters and equipment here, which we just don’t have space for.”
