Rochester woman charged with food stamp fraud in Seneca County

A Rochester woman is facing a criminal charge after investigators say she received more than $1,000 in food stamp benefits she wasn’t eligible for.

According to the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, Christy A. Holtz, 48, was arrested on December 3 and charged with one count of misuse of food stamps. The charge stems from an investigation that found Holtz failed to properly report her income to the Seneca County Department of Human Services. As a result, officials say she wrongfully received $1,100 in SNAP benefits.

Holtz was processed and released on an appearance ticket. She’s scheduled to appear in Waterloo Town Court later this month to answer the charge…
