8 years after the Thomas Fire, survivors offer guidance to support others

VENTURA, Calif. — Eight years ago today, the devastating Thomas Fire ignited and tore through Ventura and Santa Barbara counties, killing two people.

At the time, it was the largest wildfire recorded in state history.
