Earlier this year, Montgomery County installed more than 200 No Turn on Red signs as part of the Safe Streets Act of 2023, known as MC Bill 11-23. The law required The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) to place these restrictions at designated traffic signals unless a safety risk is identified.
In the last two weeks, an additional 18 No Turn on Red signs have been installed at intersections across the county. Many of the new signs are located within downtown and town center areas where pedestrian activity is high. The latest installations include:
