WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office (NHCSO) has opened an investigation following an incident at Alderman Elementary.
According to New Hanover County Schools Superintendent Barnes, the alleged altercation occurred on the morning of Wednesday, Dec. 3. Barnes confirmed that it involved a teacher’s assistant and an elementary student. He added that the altercation took place in a common area within the school, not in a classroom.
Later that day, the school emailed parents acknowledging the alleged physical altercation between the adult and student, noting that “some students may have witnessed a physical incident.”…
