According to Everything Lubbock, we are getting an El Pollo Loco, at a familiar place. Does Lubbock need yet another chicken restaurant? I would say “no” if it weren’t El Pollo Loco.
Lubbock Is Perfect For El Pollo Loco
I’ve been befuddled at Lubbock’s lack of an El Pollo Loco for years. We seem like the perfect market for the concept. We robustly support many chicken restaurants; however, there has been a gap in the market for roasted, non-battered/ fried chicken. You know, the excellent lean protein source without all the added carbs and frying oil (not trash-talking tendies, which I love, just saying we should probably make the healthier choice occasionally). Throw in fiber-rich beans and healthy fat guacamole, and you’ve got the meal of a fitness influencer. All available at El Pollo Loco. Of course, you can get a bunch of rice and tortillas too, because life is short and those things are delicious.
Where Will El Pollo Loco Be In Lubbock?
It will be at a very familiar place to many of us- the current (and my favorite) Weinerschnitzel at 7102 Quaker Ave.. It’s the one with the airplane chair, but don’t despair, the airplane will be moved to another location at 6319 82nd St after it gets a few repairs. I’m really fond of it too.
Some bemoaned the loss of this Weinerschnitzel location, which I get; it has the friendliest employees, and the vibe is great. However, those employees will simply move to a new location at 4501 114th St, so it’s all going to be fine. If you want that experience one last time, you’d better scoot because it closes on December 7th to begin the remodel…
