Albany Homeless Advocacy group calls for state of emergency after death at airport

Albany, NY (WRGB) — The National Union of the Homeless Albany Chapter is calling on Albany County lawmakers to declare a state of emergency to address what they describe as a growing homelessness crisis.

The group issued a statement following the death of a man who was found in a parking garage at Albany International Airport on November 30. The union says the man died “cold, alone,” and his death highlights failures in the region’s response to poverty and homelessness.
