Mount Pleasant man jailed on charges for arson attack on Brighton Twp. home, stalking a child on social media

BRIGHTON TWP. (WWJ) — A 25-year-old man from Mount Pleasant is facing felony charges in Livingston County, after it’s alleged that he stalked a child online, then tried to set their house on fire.

At around 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 28, Livingston County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an address on Burton Drive in Brighton Twp. on reports that multiple Molotov cocktails being thrown at a home.

Neighbors acted quickly to put the fires out — “preventing what could have been a catastrophic outcome,” according to the sheriff’s office — but the deputies found fire damage to the victims’ property…
