Couple sentenced in 2023 North Charleston murder, attempted armed robbery

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — A Charleston County judge has sentenced a couple in connection with a 2023 murder and attempted armed robbery.

Jaimen Quavere Tisdale, 23, was convicted of murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, three counts of attempted armed robbery and two counts of unlawful conduct towards a child.

Mariah McAteer, 24, pled guilty Monday to accessory after the fact to murder, three counts of attempted armed robbery and two counts of unlawful conduct towards a child.

Ninth Circuit Solicitor’s Office spokesperson Ashley Kay said Tisdale and McAteer waited outside of a convenience store after they saw 25-year-old Miqueas Lopez and his three friends cash their paychecks on July 23, 2023. Tisdale followed them for over 10 minutes before attempting to rob them…
