Charges dropped against Charlotte-Mecklenburg coach accused of shooting into home

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Charges against a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools coach accused of shooting into a home were dropped, according to court records.

Dia’Mond Johnson was arrested on Oct. 22 and charged with two counts of shooting into an occupied property. Both charges were dismissed on Dec. 2, according to paperwork filed with the Mecklenburg County Superior Court.

The reasoning, according to the dismissal, was insufficient evidence for prosecution. Two kinds of shell cases were found at the site of the shooting. The only person they found who had a gun was not cooperative, and no guns were recovered…
