BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. (WACH) — The Richland County Sheriff’s Department has closed its investigation into allegations that Blythewood Mayor Sloan Griffin and town employees unlawfully detained a woman at Doko Manor on Sept. 11, finding no evidence of criminal activity.
The inquiry followed claims by Michelle Layman, who said Mayor Griffin, along with employees Walt Davis and Jennifer Edwards, blocked her and her infant child from leaving the building and initially refused to let her access her car for medication, which she says contributed to a heart attack.
