DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — A string of 18 break-ins from late Wednesday night to early Thursday morning in Durham is believed to be connected to similar recent thefts in the RTP area.
The break-ins all targeted locked cars with entry gained by smashing out windows, according to the Durham Police Department.
The first cluster of break-ins consisted of five cars smashed into within five hours — from 9 p.m. Wednesday to 2 a.m. Thursday.
