A man found dead inside a vehicle stopped along the right shoulder of the 5 Freeway near Smokey Bear Road on Saturday morning has been identified.
Jose Montoya, 34, an unhoused person, has been identified as the person pronounced dead Saturday, according to the County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office.
The incident began around 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, when the California Highway Patrol’s Newhall office (CHP) received a call about a crash on the northbound 5 Freeway.
