The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office cited two drivers and impounded their vehicles after deputies responded to a report of an illegal street race in Patterson this week.
Deputies were alerted to possible racing activity near Ward Avenue and Sperry Avenue — an area the sheriff’s office says has a history of speed contests on private property. Deputy Garcia responded and saw two vehicles racing side by side at speeds exceeding 90 mph while a large crowd watched, according to the sheriff’s office.
Garcia stopped both vehicles and cited the drivers for engaging in a speed contest. Both admitted to taking part in the race, the sheriff’s office said. Their vehicles were seized and impounded…
