COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — An assisted living worker at Collier County was arrested after being accused of using a resident’s credit cards to make purchases.
According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, Edna Val, 21, is accused of using two credit cards belonging to a resident with severe dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. The arrest report says that Val made several purchases from Amazon and Shein, totaling a financial loss of $400.12.
The resident was reportedly only under Val’s care for five days before the purchases showed up on her credit card records. The report says that Val claims that the resident told her to make the purchases. The resident’s son noticed the purchases and contacted the authorities…
