Woman killed after stepping into traffic on Highway 101 in Bay Area, CHP says

A woman was struck and killed early Friday morning while crossing U.S. 101 in San Jose, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officers responded at 1:16 a.m. to reports of a collision on northbound U.S. 101, just north of San Antonio Street.

When they arrived, they determined that a 2017 Infiniti traveling had hit an adult female pedestrian who had stepped into the roadway “from the left,” the agency said in a statement…
