Wilmington Chick-fil-A reopens with work underway on two others

As one Chick-fil-A opens its doors in Wilmington, another is closed for remodeling while work begins on a new location.

Sandwiches, shakes, fries and more are back at the corner of Market Street and New Centre Drive where Chick-fil-A reopened on Dec. 4. The fast-food company started from scratch at the location, fully demolishing and rebuilding the restaurant over the last several months.

Remodels and new locations

The restaurant, located at 5123 Market St., shares a shopping center with a variety of businesses including Target, PetSmart and a Burlington clothing store. Party City previously occupied a large retail space behind the Chick-fil-A, but the store permanently closed in early 2025.

Chick-fil-A closed its store at 5106 South College Road in late November to make way for a remodel. The Monkey Junction location is near Lowe’s Home Improvement, Walmart and a variety of other fast-food restaurants.
