After multiple incidents where deer attacked humans or their pets, the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission (NCWRC) urged the public to “keep deer wild.”
The NCWRC said one attack happened on October 21 when a woman stopped by an acquaintance’s home in Holly Ridge to pick up a table. That’s when officials said she was charged and gored by a 3-and-a-half-year-old white-tailed buck.
The agency said the deer involved had been illegally kept in a fenced-in yard for more than three years.
