EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The New Mexico Department of Transportation, in partnership with the New Mexico Border Authority, announced a key milestone for a project that is designed to improve transportation in the Sunland Park and Santa Teresa area.
Final design work for the project has been completed and “this significant milestone moves the long-planned regional connector one step closer to construction,” NMDOT said.
The NM 139 Border Highway Connector will be a new roadway that will extend between NM 136 (Pete V. Domenici Boulevard) and NM 273 (McNutt Road), “creating an improved and more efficient connection between the Santa Teresa Port of Entry, the City of Sunland Park, and key destinations throughout the region,” NMDOT said.
