- Cold temperatures and dangerous wind chills overnight
- AM freezing fog, with light snow and freezing drizzle in the evening
- An active wintry pattern next week
ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – It was a frigid Thursday across the stateline, as temperatures remained in the middle teens, despite wall to wall sunshine today. Overnight, expect areas of freezing fog to develop as temperatures bottom out near -1 degree below zero with wind chills between -5 to -12 degrees below zero. Our overnight low should occur shortly after midnight as winds shift to more of a southerly direction. this will tug in some slightly “warmer” air allowing temperatures to rise through the early morning hours. Still bundle up in those layers as you head out the door on Friday, because it will still be very cold with temperatures in the single digits.
