WAIMALU, Hawaii (KHON2) – A 76-year old woman was killed after she was struck while crossing the street at the Moanalua and Ualo St. intersection Thursday night, Dec.4. She was transported to the hospital in critical condition where she later succumbed to her injuries.
This marks Oahu’s 76th traffic fatality, compared to 47 at the same time last year.

According to HPD, the 52-year old motorist stayed at the scene, and was arrested for negligent injury, and driving under the influence. The investigation is ongoing.
“She was two thirds of the way on the (crosswalk), and witnesses were saying the car didn’t stop, and struck her,” said Lillian Augafa, a nearby resident. “All we could think about was ‘Oh my God’ you know here and her family what they’re dealing with right before the holidays.”…
