North Carolina man arrested after explosive device found in front of home: officials

MARION, N.C. (WLOS) — A North Carolina man has been charged with felony possession of a weapon of mass destruction after authorities discovered a destructive explosive device at a residence in Marion, officials said.

On Saturday, Nov. 29, a McDowell County deputy conducted a property check at the Marion home when he noticed “several monofilament strands stretched across the road” in front of the residence, according to the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office. Upon investigation, the deputy discovered that the monofilament was connected to a device pointed toward the road.
