GATLINBURG, Tenn. (WATE) — An off-duty police officer from Mississippi was arrested Tuesday in Gatlinburg on multiple charges, including driving under the influence.
The Gulfport Police Department said that Officer Joseph Prine is on personal leave following his arrest Tuesday in Sevier County. He faces charges of driving under the influence, possession of a firearm while under the influence, and possession of an open container.

According to an incident report, a Gatlinburg police officer stopped an unmarked police vehicle registered to the Gulfport Police Department with its hidden emergency lights activated around 10:20 p.m. Tuesday.
The officer reported a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle and observed an open beer can in the center cup holder. Prine reported having two beers at Jason Aldean’s Bar, but later reported having three or four. He was arrested after performing poorly on field sobriety tests…
