In a Lowndes County Courtroom Wednesday, Dec. 3, a judge sentenced Cory Alan Cowart, 38, to 50 years’ imprisonment for the 2021 murder of Rober Javaris Grant.
Circuit Judge Cleveland Poole handed down the sentence after a pre-sentencing investigation he ordered in October. A jury heard testimony for the case on Oct. 21 and returned a guilty verdict the next day.
