New CHP Officers to Join Local Area Offices Following Record Year for Recruitment

As 2025 ends, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) graduated its final class of the year. The ceremony took place at the CHP Academy in Sacramento. A total of 137 new officers were sworn in. They will be assigned to California’s 102 Area offices starting December 15, 2025.

This year, the CHP graduated 780 cadets. This reflects an increase in hiring and interest in law enforcement jobs. Governor Gavin Newsom attended the ceremony. He recognized the new officers for their commitment to public safety.
