A record number of homeless veterans find permanent homes

Veterans from across the area gathered at Tropicana Field for one of James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital’s outreach events, designed to help people find permanent housing and receive benefits.

The Department of Veterans Affairs had a record-breaking number of more than 50,000 homeless veterans housed permanently across the nation this year, about 4,000 more than last year.

Bay Pines’ VA Healthcare System accounts for over 950 of those veterans who now have a permanent home…
