For nearly a year, the Commission has traveled statewide, gathering testimony from Black New Yorkers impacted by slavery’s legacy, segregation, redlining, discriminatory policing, the War on Drugs, and long-term systemic harm. The Commission is now in the final stage of public testimony, and the drafting of the report will follow.
