Emergency crews respond to crash involving ambulance with patient inside

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Emergency crews responded to the scene of a crash involving an ambulance Friday afternoon.

According to the Wilmington Police Department (WPD), the crash happened at 16th and Dawson Streets at around 3 p.m.

A Pender County assistant fire chief on the scene said the ambulance was taking a patient to the hospital with lights and sirens on when it went through the intersection. A silver Nissan came through and crashed into the ambulance…
