Man bragged about killing rival in Little Village ambush: prosecutors

Chicago police and prosecutors say a 20-year-old man bragged about opening fire on a group of rivals during a predawn drive in Little Village, killing one man and injuring another in what investigators describe as a premeditated gang ambush.

Prosecutors said Lorenzo Salazar and another man talked about getting guns and heading into rival territory on November 12, 2023, plotting to “target others.” They allegedly stole a car, broke into another vehicle, and then drove to the 2800 block of South Trumbull Avenue. Just before 4 a.m., they fired shots from inside their vehicle toward men they believed were members of another gang, officials said.

Enrique Victor, 23, was struck and killed. A 24-year-old man was shot twice in the right leg.

Prosecutors say Salazar later bragged about being the shooter and video evidence supports that claim. They also allege he tried to circulate the gun back onto the streets after the murder…
