18-Year-Old Charged As Juvenile for Aggravated Vehicular Hijacking in Chicago

An 18-year-old male has been charged in connection with an aggravated vehicular hijacking that occurred earlier this year, Chicago Police reported. Despite the individual being a juvenile at the time of the crime, he is facing charges as a juvenile.

According to the law enforcement narrative, the incident took place on April 13, 2025, around 1:15 a.m., when it is alleged that the teenager took a vehicle at gunpoint from a 47-year-old male on the 4500 block of S. Hermitage Ave., the police stated. The offender now faces one felony count of aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm.

The arrest occurred on December 4, 2025, near the 5100 block of S. Wentworth Ave, and by approximately 6:48 p.m., the accused was in custody. Following his arrest, he was taken to a juvenile detention hearing at the 1100 S. Hamilton venue on the following day, as confirmed by Chicago authorities…
