Armed rapist luring women to Woodlawn via dating apps: Chicago police

Chicago police are looking for a man who has repeatedly used an online dating app to lure women into Woodlawn apartment buildings, where he pulled a gun, sexually assaulted them, and robbed them. The crime pattern began in early October and continued as recently as this week, according to a community alert issued this week.

Investigators said the man arranged meetings through the app, led each woman into an apartment, produced a handgun, assaulted them, took their belongings, and used their phones to transfer money from their bank accounts before fleeing.

The first known attack happened on October 3 around 3 p.m. in the 6400 block of South Ingleside Avenue. Another followed just after midnight on October 17 on the same block. The most recent case occurred on Thursday, December 4, around 11 a.m. in the 6400 block of South Drexel Avenue…
