New Online Tool Helps Local Private Well Owners Understand Water Test Results

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has launched ‘Be Well Informed,’ an online tool for private well owners in Wisconsin. The tool helps users understand their drinking water test results. It was developed with the UW-Madison Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, and the UW-Madison Division of Extension. The tool uses Wisconsin’s water quality standards and guidelines.

Private well owners enter their certified laboratory test results into the tool. The tool then provides a report that explains the results and suggests educational resources for recommended actions.
