San Antonio’s second annual Krampus Parade wound through the King William Historic District on Friday night, bringing a host of menacing creatures that threaten to carry off bad boys and girls ahead of Christmas.
Parade viewers lined the neighborhood’s streets to watch a stream of people dressed as the mythological demon Krampus and various other scary creatures shamble through. Part of Yuletide lore in Germany and other European countries, the horned creature is said to make away with naughty kids.
San Antonio’s King William neighborhood was established in the late 1800s by German immigrants, and the organizers of Friday’s event promoted it as an entertaining way to celebrate Old World traditions.
