NORTH CAROLINA — Another round of wintry weather is expected to develop across portions of North Carolina early Monday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
While totals are generally expected to remain light, forecasters say some areas — particularly in the northwestern mountains near the Virginia border — could see 1 to 2 inches of accumulation.
The highest totals are likely in elevated areas west and northwest of Mount Airy and Boone, where colder temperatures may allow snow to stick more efficiently.
Farther south and east, including areas closer to Wilkesboro, Winston-Salem, and the Piedmont, snowfall amounts are expected to be lower, with many locations receiving less than an inch…
