U.S. Marshals have apprehended a fugitive accused of assaulting a Georgia state trooper after a manhunt that ended at a truck stop in Lenoir City, Tennessee. Jamie Carlos Thomas, the man involved in the altercation with Trooper Rachel Iverson last Tuesday, Nov. 25, was taken into custody without incident, Marshals officials informed. According to a WVLT report, the incident initially transpired in Warner Robbins, on State Route 247, setting off an extensive search.
Following the assault that resulted in minor injuries to Iverson, the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force pursued the case and received a tip on Wednesday indicating that Thomas might be in East Tennessee. The Eastern Tennessee Smoky Mountain Fugitive Task Force, conducting their inquiry, determined that Thomas was possibly at a Loves Truck Stop based on solid leads, as detailed by WATE’s coverage.
