Komets collapse in 5-4 overtime loss at Walleye

TOLEDO, Ohio (WANE) – Leading 3-1 late in the second period, the Komets could not close out the Toledo Walleye in a 5-4 overtime loss on Saturday.

Tanner Dickinson scored the game-winner for the Walleye on a 4-on-3 power play with less than five seconds left in overtime. Dickinson’s goal put an exclamation point on Toledo’s lethal power play unit, which scored four of their five goals with a man advantage.

The Komets grabbed an early 3-1 lead thanks to goals from Kirill Tyutyayev and Leo native Matt Miller in the first period. Toledo cut the deficit in half to make a 2-1 game by the first intermission.
