Metro Council passes new zoning options for housing

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Metro Council passed two zoning bills Thursday night that have drawn heated debate.

One bill looks to add two new options for zoning neighborhoods, while the other makes it easier for property owners to build detached units, such as mother-in-law suites.

Greater Nashville Realtors came out in support of both bills, saying the measure was a step in the right direction when it comes to affordable housing.
