Hochul may add limits to legal suicide bill

Gov. Kathy Hochul is weighing last-minute changes to New York’s physician-assisted suicide bill before deciding whether to sign it by Dec. 31, according to Spectrum News.

The proposed tweaks include requiring terminally ill patients to record their request on video, undergo psychiatric evaluations, and prove they live in-state. The bill, passed quietly in spring, faces strong opposition from disability rights advocates, religious leaders, and medical groups.
