JENNINGS, La. (KPLC) – An inmate who escaped the Vermilion Parish Jail on Dec. 3 is back in custody after leading authorities on a high-speed chase from Jennings to Rayne.
Gavin Garnica, 23, was captured Friday night in Rayne after a two-day man hunt, according to Jennings Police Department Chief Danny Semmes.
Jennings Police Department officers were working with Vermilion Parish and federal authorities to locate Garnica on Friday.
Semmes said around 11:30 p.m. on Friday, someone approached a security guard at Shop Rite on Lake Arthur Ave. saying they were afraid of the person they had picked up in their vehicle…
