Sarah Frankel-Russell is the director of Student Advocacy and Support at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. She received the Board of Regents’ Kudos Award for her work in assisting students with personal and financial challenges. The award was presented on December 5, 2024, and recognizes staff who provide service to the university community.
In the 2024-25 academic year, Frankel-Russell and her four-person team supported 942 students. They addressed issues such as food insecurity, housing instability, and medical withdrawals. The team also helped Fulbright Scholars remain enrolled after funding cuts and worked with university offices to assist students with visa and federal funding problems.
