City sets start date for Unser and Paseo del Norte widening project

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A date has been set for the start of a road construction project, which officials say is the largest road project in the City of Albuquerque’s history.

The $62 million Unser and Paseo del Norte widening project will begin construction around January 12 and aims to alleviate congestion for West Side drivers and commuters.

Construction crews will add more traffic lanes, create a new median, add bike lanes, make new trails, improve storm systems, and install new lighting. On Friday, crews began moving some utilities, like water connections, and plan to do the final survey and soil analysis work…
