Strong atmospheric river brings heavy rains, flood threats and warmer temps to our region

We get rainy and windy on Sunday, a day of practice before we face stronger winds and rain in the days following. We’ve been under a flood advisory along the coast since Friday, due to the constant rainfall. Starting early Monday morning, winds pick up even more, as a strong atmospheric river rolls out of the southwest bringing warm air, heavy rains and and high winds to Portland, the Willamette Valley, the Coast and the the Columbia Gorge.

What is an atmospheric river?
