LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Metro Council voted 13 to 12 Thursday to reject an amendment that would have updated the city’s mask ordinance and barred law enforcement, including U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, from wearing masks that hide their identities.
District 6 Councilman J.P. Lyninger sponsored the amendment. He said it was designed to rebuild public trust in law enforcement as immigration enforcement increases nationwide.
