After a year of relative collegiality and calm, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors has fallen into old patterns of tension and bickering over the past week as hot-button issues such as housing and the budget have sparked fights.
At Tuesday’s board meeting over Mayor Daniel Lurie’s “Family Zoning” plan to allow taller and denser housing in parts of the city that have seen little recent development, some supervisors accused others of emotional manipulation and political grandstanding.
