Wilmington, NC – A thick blanket of coastal fog drifts across the Cape Fear region this morning, signaling a damp and shifting weather pattern ahead. Early December warmth fades as light rain develops Monday, followed by a crisp, clear stretch that could bring patchy frost by Tuesday morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, Monday will start cloudy with a 40% chance of rain, mainly during the morning and midday hours. Showers are expected to stay light, with less than a quarter inch of accumulation. Still, wet pavement could make for slippery travel on U.S. 17 and I-140, especially during the morning commute.
