An 18-time convicted felon is now a 19-time convicted felon after he pleaded guilty on Friday to burglarizing one of Chicago’s exclusive private homes while the owners slept inside.
Robert Berry, 46, pleaded guilty to residential burglary for entering a home in the 200 block of East Lake Shore Drive around 3 a.m. on August 19, 2025. The block, home to the Drake Hotel and a row of early twentieth-century co-ops, is one of the priciest stretches of real estate in Chicago. The victims’ residence had recently been listed for $8.4 million.
