Anchorage: Blizzard Warning for Kuskokwim Delta and Alaska Range — Travel “Very Hazardous”

Anchorage, AK – The National Weather Service has issued Blizzard Warnings covering large portions of central, western, and southern Alaska through Sunday and Monday, warning of whiteout conditions, 60 mph winds, and life-threatening cold.

According to the Anchorage and Fairbanks Weather Service offices, blizzard conditions are ongoing across the Kuskokwim Delta Coast, Nunivak Island, Denali Borough, Northern Susitna Valley, and Thompson Pass. Visibility may drop below one-quarter mile, and wind chills are forecast to plunge between –35°F and –60°F.
