The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred on December 5, 2025, in the 300 block of Morse Street, Northeast Washington, DC. Officers responded to a report of a shooting inside an apartment at 8:08 p.m. They found 20-year-old Roy Lee Bennett Jr. with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene after receiving medical aid.
